What Our Customer Has To Say

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: What are orthotics?

It’s a medical specialty that focuses on the design and application of orthosis, an externally applied device used to influence the structural and functional characteristics of the neuromuscular and skeletal system.

Question 2: Will orthotics correct my foot problem?

Orthotics will control the position and motion of your foot. This may prevent the development of pain and disability and the development of additional deformity. However, orthotics will not change the underlying structure of the adult foot.

Question 3: Are the orthotics comfortable?

Most people find orthotics quite comfortable at first, however some might take a couple of weeks to get use too, as it’s essentially there to retrain affected muscles.

Question 4: Can they fit into most shoes?

Often custom-made orthotics can be transferred between similar types of shoes.

Question 5: Are special orthotics required for sports?

Standard orthotics are fine for most activities, including sports that do not impact the feet excessively. However, sports such as running, basketball, high impact, aerobics, tennis, racquet sports, and baseball involve considerable ground impact and require sports orthotics.

Question 6: Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

You do not need a referral to see a podiatrist. However, if you do have a referral, it’s recommended to bring it to your appointment.

Question 7: How often do I need to visit a podiatrist?

This depends on the nature of the condition that is being treated. The treatment and rehabilitation of conditions will vary widely; however, after an initial consultation, the podiatrist will be able to provide a recovery framework.

Question 8: How long does it take to recover from an ingrown toenail surgery?

You will be walking out that day. There is no time off work or school post procedure.
